Kebbi Deputy Governor Escapes Death As Bandits Attack Convoy, Kill Soldier
The Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Col Yombe Dabai (Rtd) has escaped death after his convoy was attacked by bandits in the state. The attack which led to a gun battle between Dabai’s security team and the bandits occurred along Kanya village in Danko/Wassagu local government of the State on Wednesday, Naija News understands.
The Deputy Governor was said to be visiting some areas in the state affected by bandits activities when his convoy ran into a large number of bandits operating in Kanya community.

NDE Gives Out N1.4 Million As Loans To 74 Nigerians
This is in line with the objectives of the Micro Enterprise Enhancement Scheme, under the Small-Scale Enterprise Department of the NDE.
The Director-General of NDE, Abubakar Fikpo, made this announcement on Wednesday during the flag-off ceremony of the disbursement in Port Harcourt.
While speaking to the beneficiaries, Fikpo who was represented by the Rivers State Coordinator of NDE, Maureen Okeji, said the loan’s objective was to aid small businesses in growing, which would then have a multiplier effect on the economy as a whole.

Palace Confirms Alaafin Of Oyos Death
The Palace of Oyo has confirmed the death of Yoruba monarch, Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi. The spokesman of the monarch, Bode Durojaye, confirmed the development in a chat with Punch on Saturday.
Durojaye said, “Alaafin is dead. Details in due course.”
It was gathered that Alaafin died on Friday night in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State Capital after a brief illness.
A further report had it that the state Governor, Seyi Makinde, has been informed of the death of the monarch.
